Tailor Skincare First Impressions & Review

Tailor Skincare prides itself on being environmentally friendly and 100% cruelty free! Now if you know me, that’s exactly what I’m about. I like to use hygiene products that don’t do any damage once they run down the plug including shampoo and body wash. So you can see the appeal of Tailor Skin Care! I have heard great things about how the products actually work so I decided to have a little peek at their website.

I made a late night order on the Thursday, and the products were with me by Monday morning. For my first order, I grabbed the cleansing oil and the detoxifying face treatment mask. The oil is $39 NZD for 100ml and the mask is $35 NZD for 50ml, which is super affordable for skincare, and I managed to snag a cheeky 10% discount with a code online!

The Oil Cleanse

Massage over a dry face for 30 seconds before removing with a hot, damp face cloth to reveal fresh, cleansed skin.

This cleansing oil is packed with skin-loving ingredients such as sunflower seed extract, coconut oil and hazelnut oil. The scent is nice and fresh, almost hinting towards peppermint!

Okay, so upon using this for the first time, I was seriously impressed! The oil cut through my makeup so effortlessly, and did an incredible job at cleansing my skin. I didn’t feel greasy or oily afterwards, but my skin was definitely clean. 10/10, I recommend this to you guys so much! Cleansing oils are a great way to gently remove all the dirt and makeup from your skin, and this is by far my favourite!

The Detoxifying Facial Treatment Mask

Apply to a clean dry face and leave for 10-20 minutes before removing with warm water and a face cloth

This mask smells so good! It smells very natural, like most clay masks do but it has some sort of sweetness to it as well. Right up my street! The formula itself is pretty impressive, it has NZ Bentonite Clay which is great for oil control as well as NZ Kanuka Oil. Kanuka oil relieves inflammation and has anti-bacterial properties. Traditionally used in Maori medicine, this oil can be used to aid acne, rashes and eczema. This is great news for me as I have quite dry skin, but definitely struggle with oil control.

When I first applied this mask, I felt it get to work straight away. As soon as you rub it into your skin, it tingles and feels like your pores are opening up. The mask dries fairly quickly but doesn’t feel super tight which is great for drier skin, there is nothing worse than a mask that tightens your face up! It removes really easily from your face after the 10-20 minutes with no scrubbing. My skin felt so soft afterwards and not irritated at all. I followed up with a daily moisturiser and was good to go!

Overall, I would definitely recommend Tailor Skincare if you have any type of problematic skin. The natural ingredients are only gonna do wonders for your face, and even the most sensitive skin can benefit from using their products.
