Happy Thursday! I am a firm believer that cocktails do not have to be reserved for long summer nights, laden with fresh fruit and soda water. I love a wintery cocktail. Rich flavours to warm up even the coldest nights! I have 3 recipes for you today, which I highly suggest you try out! These are my favourite cocktails to make when I feel like something a bit fancier than a $9 bottle of moscato.
CC & Dry with Lime
This one is for those of you who like something a little bit tangy, not too sweet. You’ll need:
Canadian Club whisky
Dry ginger ale
1 x Lime
Cane sugar and Cinnamon (if ya feeling fancy)
If you are indeed feeling faaancy, put some cane sugar and cinnamon in a bowl and wet the rim of the glass with a wedge of lime. Dip the edge of the glass into the mixture and voila! When you take a drink, the cane sugar and cinnamon will add a hint of spice to the drink. Next you want to fill the glass with ice and squeeze a wedge of lime over it. Next, add a double shot of whisky and top with dry ginger ale. Finish with a wedge of lime and you’re ready to go!
Blood Orange Rum Punch
Blood orange juice
1 x Orange
1 x Lime
You can make this one in large quantities for a group, or for yourself – no judgement. Mix blood orange juice, fresh orange and lime wedges and 1 shot of light rum per serving of orange juice in a punch bowl. Serve in a glass with ice and fresh fruit wedges for something super sweet and delicious.
Blackberry Vodka Limeade
Blackberries (frozen will do!)
1 x Lime
This cocktail is a little bit more fresh, and a little lighter on the calories! Muddle some frozen blackberries and lime in a glass and add ice. Pop in a shot of vodka and top with club soda. Add some fresh lime wedges on top and you’re good to go!
Let me know which recipe you’ll be trying on your next cocktail night, I think the CC & Dry is still my all time fave!
