Three Illuminating Primers For The Glow Getter In All Of Us

A glowing, flawless base is what I’m all about when I’m wearing makeup. Whether I’m going all out, winged eyeliner and all, or a bit more natural – the glow is a major key. I have a few products I reach for whenever I need a little something to get me going to a drab morning. The products I’m going to be talking about aren’t technically primers, so if you need a little bit more to keep your foundation on throughout the day, layer these on top of whichever primer you like to use.

Becca Backlight Priming Filter

This product looks like liquid silver when it comes out of the pump. When smoothed over the face, the consistency goes slightly sticky – which holds my makeup in place quite nicely. When worn under a natural coverage foundation, I get a really pretty glow that shows on the high points of my face. Layered under full coverage foundation, I get a sort of filtered, photoshop look to my face which looks great in photos, as well as in person. The only negative of this is that my T zone gets a little oily during the day however, during cooler weather I don’t have this issue!

MAC Strobe Cream

An oldie but a goodie, this product is one of my favourite products from MAC. When first applied, you kinda look a little but like the tin man from The Wizard of Oz but under foundation you get the prettiest glow. This is the illuminating base I go for when I do need a bit of priming as well, it seems to hold my makeup in place really nicely.

NARS Illuminator

The reason I love this one is because it’s so multi functional. It looks great as a dewy base, can be mixed with foundation for a more obvious glow, or blended on top of foundation on the high points of the face. It comes in a few shades, some more pink and some a little more bronzey for those of you with a tan! A little bit of a stickier texture so I can use this one without a primer if I want too!

Let me know which products are your go to glow getters!
