Life Update: Blogging, 9-5 Work & Being an Adult

Oh how I’ve missed your face! I have taken a week or two off from blogging – more to come on that later BUT! I’m back and I’ve got a lot of fun stuff in the pipeline so get excited for that! Today’s post is just a quick life update for those of you who care, I feel like so much has changed recently and I have SO much to tell you!

I basically haven’t had any energy to blog lately. I have so many ideas of content I want to bring to you guys but feel so ~bleh~ when it comes to actually writing! I’m primarily a content writer for my job so writing all day at work, writing assignments and then blogging on top of that got a bit much and I needed a break. Like I said before, I have lots of fun stuff coming so stay tuned for that. I got a new blog logo recently which I can change depending on the time of year which is SO fun! I’ve also made loads of new blogging friends lately – that’s one of the best things about being in the blogging biz, you get to meet so many kick ass women who are on the same road to internet fame (kidding, but still).

Working 9-5

Most of you probably don’t know but I finally left retail. I am now working in marketing (WOOH!) which means Monday to Friday and weekends OFF! It has been such a good change for me, I was feeling so lazy and stuck in retail. Now I feel productive, happy and relaxed. It’s amazing what a change of environment can do! I’m working for a super fun company and have been thrown in the deep end which is the best way for me to learn. I’ve already been there a whole month which is so crazy! I have 3 months left because I’m doing my AUT co-op with them so it’s fixed term and I’m already getting sad about the day I have to say goodbye!

Being an adult.

I’m just gonna go and speak for everyone when I say being an adult f*cking sucks sometimes. Do you wanna know how much I’ve spent at the dentist, optometrists and doctors in the past 3 months? $4000. YEP. Read it and weep (for me). Who knew you’d save up for years while at uni only to blow it all on your health in the space of 100 days?! So fun. That’s life though so onwards and upwards! Other than that, I’ve had to conquer my fear of trains, social anxiety and juggle uni papers and a 40 hour work week. No mental breakdowns so far so I’d say it’s going well.

I am the ultimate fan girl.

This year so far I’ve gone to Justin Bieber and Little Mix concerts and will soon be going to Ariana Grande. I’m the ultimate fan girl but it’s SO fun. I used to be kinda anxious about the idea of a concert – ya know, the whole social anxiety thing. But going with Matt (one of the COOLEST people around and one of my best friends) is always a good time. He makes everything so fun and appreciates that appropriate concert attire always involves body glitter.

How are you guys doing? Tell me about your life! Please leave me a comment letting me know what you’ve been up to, I love chatting to you guys!

Love, Lyd x

Oh I feel for you girl! I’m so lucky to be in a paid position or it would be weekend work for me too. Such a struggle but YOU CAN DO IT! 💖

Love me some adulting! If you know your glasses prescription (the detailed version) you should check out eye buy direct – cheap and glorious glasses, found them earlier this year and I’m addicted
