Skincare is one of my favourite things to talk about – you can probably tell from my post about facial oils, and my recent review of a REN cleanser! I decided after that post that I would write a little bit about what I do after I clean all my makeup off – the after cleansing skin care routine. So here it is folks! How I keep my hormonal skin clean and fresh, enjoy!
Glycolic Acid Toner
So after I cleanse, I use this toner all over my face to help remove dead skin and further clean my pores. Chemical exfoliants are really great for encouraging your skin cell turnover – which in turn leads to more glowy and fresh skin! They also help remove the appearance of acne scarring over time as the skin has to produce new skin cells more rapidly! This formula is alcohol free which means it won’t dry out or irritate your skin however test a patch before using all over your face just in case!

Every so often I get actual breakouts that I wanna get rid of ASAP. I use this weird yet wonderful product on any trouble areas after cleansing and they are usually dealt with within a day or two. To use the drying lotion, you dip a cotton bud through the clear liquid and into the pink solution that settles at the bottom of the bottle and dab over any breakouts. With salicylic acid and zinc oxide, this product dries out any breakouts quickly and gently without causing irritation.

This powder is oddly satisfying to use! You dip a wet cotton ball into the powder and spread it across your nose and any other congested areas of your face and wait 20 minutes. I don’t know why this is called silver powder, but whatever the reason – it’s magic. This product helped clear out my blackheads better than anything I’ve used before! The only downside is that when it starts to dry on your skin the fallout of powder can be really really annoying, so I always make sure I just lie down and take a small nap when I’ve got it on.
Only $18 here, what a bargain.
I hope you enjoyed this post! I’m trying to get back into the swing of things for beauty related writing, so keep an eye out for more coming up on the blog!
As always, love Lyd x
