Since my last Netflix related post (here), I have been compiling another list of recommendations for ya! Here you have it: what I have been watching on Netflix, instead of studying. Enjoy!
Master of None
Aziz Ansari is one of my favourite actors ever. This show is about an Indian man trying to make it as an actor, without always being cast as the stereotypical Indian kid. Throw in a bit of life and love and you’ve got Master of None. Seriously funny and super easy to binge!
Please Like Me
After being dumped by his girlfriend, the main character comes to the realization that he is gay. After that, he moves back into the family home to help care for his mother, who has recently attempted suicide. Josh is a super sweet character who kinda represents awkward man-child, or woman-child in all of us. Plus, the show has a 100% rating on rotten tomatoes so if you don’t trust my judgement – there ya go!
From the producers of Making a Murderer comes The Keepers. This is a documentary series about a nun (Catherine Cesnik) who was murdered in the 60’s. Two of her former students come together to uncover why she was killed amidst claims she knew things she shouldn’t. Sexual abuse claims are brought to light regarding a Priest who worked with Cesnik at the local high school.
The Lizzie Borden Chronicles
After Lizzie is acquitted for killing her father and stepmother, she tries to start a new life but comes across some hurdles along the way. I’m about half way through the season and am really enjoying. Definitely a less intricate story line than some other shows, but a good watch none the less.
I am LOVING this TV show. If you’ve watched Please Like Me, or Master on None as mentioned above you will really enjoy this show – and vice versa. A failing tutor on the set of a TV show struggles through girlfriend problems, fast tracking his career and working with the shows leading brat. 10/10.
The murder of Jonbenet Ramsey is one of the most interesting cases I’ve ever known. Still unresolved, this show tells the story of the Ramsey family through the casting of each family member for a TV show. Kinda confusing but shows the different ways that this story has been portrayed since Jonbenet was killed.
